About the event
Our core 3-Day course is designed for public safety professionals and investigators who utilize RPOs to mitigate and manage potential threats of gun violence in their communities. This program focuses on integrating Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) fundamentals to assess and mitigate threats, using RPO as part of a larger, comprehensive mitigation and case management strategy. Course Objectives:
Objective 1: Working as a group, apply RPO and BTAM to Identify, Investigate, Assess, Mitigate, and Manage evolving threats and behaviors using a real school threats case.
Objective 2: Working in teams, collaborate on an RPO investigation using BTAM fundamentals to write an effective, legally defensible RPO Petition based on a real-world case, witness evidence.
Objective 3: Given a complex, real life domestic terrorism case, integrate BTAM statutory criteria to debate and discuss the best course for managing a subject on the Pathway to Violence.
